Montreal Botanical garden - Indoor Winter market

We will be at the Montreal Botanical garden for the first edition of the Winter Market.


The event takes place from December 8th to the 11th in the main Hall.


Fourteen artisans will offer original and eco-responsable gift ideas.


We will be there with our collection of cacti, tillandsias, indoor bonsai and other unusual plants dressed up for the occasion.

Dr Oz says that green plants in the home will make you live longer

Dr. Oz's has created a quiz with suggestions to help you live longer. He states that green house plants are better for you than cut flowers. "While flowers are pretty to look at, they don’t have the same longevity benefits as leafy plants. Indoor plants can soak up harmful pollutants and reduce stress. They are also associated with better sleep and less depression".

Tangerine a Day Keeps Heart Surgeons Away

I read an interesting article in the Montreal Gazette on Thursday, April 7 (page A 2). Scientists at the University of Western Ontario say a substance called "nobiletin" found in high concentrations in tangerines helps to prevent obesity and Type 2 diabetes in lab mice. The substance also protected against atherosclerosis, the disease responsible for heart attacks and strokes. Of course, a human connection has not been proven yet, but studies are continuing.
