Tangerine a Day Keeps Heart Surgeons Away
I read an interesting article in the Montreal Gazette on Thursday, April 7 (page A 2). Scientists at the University of Western Ontario say a substance called "nobiletin" found in high concentrations in tangerines helps to prevent obesity and Type 2 diabetes in lab mice. The substance also protected against atherosclerosis, the disease responsible for heart attacks and strokes. Of course, a human connection has not been proven yet, but studies are continuing. Just another reason to imagine plucking a fresh tangerine from your own indoor plant. A healthy way of living - any way you look at it.
We offer tangerines, mandarines, clementines, oranges and other citrus for your enjoyment.
Not only do you get a great looking plant, but the plant provides you with a source of food, food you can control what goes into it.
